It has the pads for midi connections on the PCB. You will need to use an optocoupler for midi in.

Just tested the midi functionality, see IG clip for details.
Here is all the info about midi in and out for volca modular It transmits and recieves on midi channel 1, it supports the following CCs:
Ratio 40, Fold 41, Mod 42, Attack 43, Release 44, Shape 45, Time 46, Cutoff1 47, Cutoff2 48, Amount 49.
Start and clock is also supported, but external start has definite delay, as seen in the clip, it could be a firmware issue as I have not updated mine yet.

Edit: The start lag was resolved, it was the app causing it, it works fine now.

Pretty much any of the usual should work, I used a 6n136.

The sequencer nor the patch panel do not transmit anything, the transport does, and the keyboard transmits notes and the knobs send the cc commands as above. A shame that it doesn’t send cc from patching, would have bern handy to say have stepped random modulating one of the konbs and sending cc but alas not possible.

Thanks for the information! Great news!

I don't have any "social media" account so I will not check IG.

Could you elaborate further on the optocoupler? How do you connect it?

I just bought Vmodular, MIDI Tx/Rx inside is nice surprise, I wanted to make midi out for send out sequencer data (bcs it would be funny to control other gear with this pretty unique), but if it does not transmit anything, im not interested, Im rather gonna figure out, how to trasmit CV. But 0.5V/oct seems like a little trouble for control classic 1V/oct gear (Neutron).
