The same Pad Sync problem with the new OS 3.0.1 ?!

As soon as I installed the new version and see that I have the same problem with the pad synchronization. The only solution for me is to change the pad from "beat" to "continued".

Hi
I tried the same style with the same Side Line Buzz Pad, no problem all works fine:
1-Pad plays 1st, then Style starts > it syncs fine;
2-Style plays 1st, then Pad comes in > it syncs fine.
In both cases even when the 2nd part is started asynchrony, the system corrects it.
Check the pad PAD SYNC, mine is on Continued, and works as it used to before the update 3.

However it does not respect what has been said in the manual for the Beat part as it's mentioned on page 249 :
''The sequence will start at the next beat, in sync with the Arranger’s
or Player’s Tempo. It will start from its very beginning (that is, tick 1
or measure 1).''

Also try the Style on User, called LOVELY POP and listen to ACC4! Anyway it,s not so lovely at all.
I found over 10 styles like that, Mismacthing tones etc.

From my early observation the PAD SYNCH BUG is fixed.
For my self I did a factory restore on v2.2.0 even before update and another one after NEXT OS v3.0.1 update. After the update finished I LOAD my previous ALL saved SET on version v2.2.0 but I slightly edited on computer to not include Factory Sounds and Styles because the newer and compatible with the NEXT OS v3.0.1 are already loaded from the previous Factory Restore process.
I have tried a lot of PAD combinations styles factory, local and user ones and everything is working OK.

Hi Asena,
I tried LOVELY POP ( Isn't she lovely) and indeed the ACC4 with its pitch bend sound strange, BUT ONLY with minor chords.
Major and minor both use CV1, but the intervall after the pitch bend sounds strange or wrong in minor mode.
If you change the NTT TABLE to NOTRANSPOSE, it sounds correct.
I don't know, wether this was programmed on purpose to enrich the harmonics of the epiano (ACC2) with the simple square.
But in general it sounds better with NTT Table changed.
In Addition: I just played the related Song from Stevie Wonder, using this chords it sounds absolutely correct !!! Maybe this is not useful for evry title.
Programming of style parts, has in my opinion nothing to do with the safety of V3

, you can change it, if you want to use this style for another song.

It seems this is a "songstyle", good for just the one song, with ONLY that song's chords.
This is a VERY bad practice, as one style for one song is hardly much of a bargain (even if free!) and seriously hampers the use of the style. At the very least, some kind of note in the title of the style (maybe 'SONG-LOVELY POP'?) should alert users to not use it for any other song...
I'm not criticizing users of songstyles, although I prefer SMF's and Markers for specific songs in close to the original form with rearranging possibilities, but I don't feel it's Korg's place to do them. Concentrate on multi-purpose styles, styles that don't immediately force the listener to think of the original song it is based on, and leave the songstyles to users of the SMF to Style Converter.
It is, IMHO, a better use of their time and effort...

Hi Guys To day i tried a style and few loops on my Pads, And The Pad was incorrect on Beat, AGAIN same problems, So i decided to re record it and chosed the Contunie to Beat on Pad edit/rec And saved it on a new Location, but gues what, nothing changed, It,s still of beat.
What is wrong, is the Pad sync problem solved or not.
BTW my pad is RAM samples, and i maded it. It was working superb on 2.0
Now it,s out of sync.
Any more pad sync trubles that you guys founded?

I found in last 2 weeks on gigs that pad sync problem still persists. It happens random and rare, but I have noticed, and I have to say this bug still not fixed completely .

Yes VEX , the same here.
And some of the styles are lazy and Late in beat, I dont undarstand.
I,m also thinking of Sample numbers, Mine are gone after just 400 mb

i think there is no daubt that we must have at least 25,000 samples.
Whats the point of 1,5 gbt if we are limited on sample nr,s

Thank goodness the machine that was keeping me alive last year did not have any BUG's.... otherwise I would not be so lucky to be here for korg to BUG me with all there BUG's... They say acceptance is a way through pain so I guess after all these years (pa3x, pa4x, the future...) that BUG's are part of the Korg experience....

Apologies - a bit off topic but just responding to the above.....
Just my 2 cents-worth here....
I also, mostly, do
not like song-specific styles as I think that if you want to be that authentic then just use MIDIs or MP3s.
BUT I personally do NOT agree that it is bad practice. These styles are definitely hybrid IMHO - OK you can use them for "the" song or not..... it is usually INTRO1 and ENDING1 that become "specific" when played with the appropriate Maj or Min chord.
There are several styles which can immediately be applied to specific songs BUT you can do so much, so quickly and simply with all styles and make them very usable for different songs - even something simple like tempo change or use Kaoss FX to change the "feel". Example "Cool Pop" is of course ideal for Sade's "Smooth Operator" but if you do not use INTRO1 and ENDING1 (with the required minor chord) it becomes a fabulous Latin style which can be applied easily to other tunes (perhaps Chris Rea's "On the Beach", Santana....etc..etc..).
Sometimes one has to experiment with styles and you can get awesome and crazy results.....
Plus you have the MIDI to STYLE converter, which is not bad at all if you have decent MIDI files like Tune1000 or Chartbusters MIDIs.
I really encourage using styles at different tempos and even with different instrumentation mixes. I even use a Django style for a Nivarna song!!!!
Cheers
Pete

I agrre with Pete also .. I use the styles for all the songs that you sing for hours and there are 25 solos in it ..and midi , mp3 to sound authentic...
and my pads work great because Iam still on OS2.2 for now until korg fix it.. or if korg fix it.
