Hi all, first post - I'm trying to find out if patches/sounds from the older Triton series (extreme) are available in newer synths or virtual instruments? Thanks!

There is a "bonus program" called "Best of Triton" for the Korg Krome. It is downloadable as a .pcg file, so can be looked at using e.g. PCG Tools freeware to see which Programs and Combis are contained therein. There is also the Triton Taktile, which has been discontinued relatively recently, and contains all 512 Programs from the Triton, according to Korg's marketing blurb. There is no Triton Extreme VST.

Thanks voip - I saw that and the X50 (and maybe the Micro X) had some of the Triton sounds - I will look into the file to see if the ones I need are in there...

You can sometimes achieve similar sounds using other synth architecture. But because the triton is a rompler using specific waveform samples you won't get "identical" results unless you're moving up to newer models.

Kronos has a sound engine that will duplicate most triton sounds but the .PCG files of each are different enough so there's no actual compatibility.

if you have a triton care to compare line by line how the patch is built and then you can get very close on your machine spoke such as the Krome and Kronos.

There is a free Kronos patch download now at korg.com for best of triton so you might luck out and find someone's done the work for you already.
