Just advising Pa700/1000 owners that a new version of the free Yamaha C5 piano set is now available.
The set has been extended from 16 to 24 sounds and now includes some large concert grands with long sustained and resonant sounds as well as some Fender Rhodes sounds.
The set can be downloaded from here:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... p?t=113029
Memory use stays the same at 116mb compressed (equal to 232mb).
More info and demos available in the above link.

Thank you very much John, that sounds great on my PA1000.
And by the way, your Elton John song covers are also great on Soundcloud.

May 10, 2019 - Version 5.1 released.
Includes more natural fade and the addition of a Large Bright Grand (replacing the Detuned Grand). I think you will find the new Large Grands very nice to play.
The download links have been updated.
I'm glad you are enjoying them B.Safe and thanks for your comments.

Hello John,

Actually I am pretty stunned by the fact there is so little response to your piano update here for the PA1000 and the PA700. You have done a great job right form the start and cannot be praised enough. Unfortunately I have learned from my own programming that the bulk of arranger players want stuff for free and even then often cannot be bothered to thank its programmer. the world is not a fair place, alas.......
I hope you will continue to share your efforts with the Korg community, apart from acoustic piano the acoustic guitar is an instrument that could be improved a lot imho, to get closer to the quality of the Yamaha acoustic guitar samples.
In all it is rather frustrating that Korg is enlarging the RAM Sample memories of all current keyboards without offering ANY decent new samples or sample packs. Third party samples are either very hard to come by or very expensive ( cf. Anthony).

regards,
John Smies

Lack or response doesn't mean lack of enjoyment =)

I'll chime in here and say a wholehearted "Thanks Reuben!" - I've loaded these into my PA1000 and they sound great. Appreciate all your hard work on this sound package.

The YC5 is now my "go to" piano setting, with a little warm pad added behind it. Sounds great in the recordings I've done.

- CK.

I hear what you are saying John. To me the piano and acoustic guitars are the most important instruments but Korg's are sold in a lot of places where that is not the case and let's face it music is changing also.
Just for you (and anyone left in the world who prefers real sounding instruments to electronic noises) I've got a small set of 4 Acoustic Guitars you can download. The first one will put them in the first 4 positions of User 1 sounds:
Acoustic Guitars:

while this second one will put them to User 2 sounds:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VAbAhs ... sp=sharing
These are not greatly different to the factory sounds they are based off but get rid of some of the annoying aspects (like volume-reduced notes when playing legato or impossible to trigger slides) of the main factory acoustic guitars. I've also added some pick noises to the Strum Guitar.
This set does not use any Ram so is based on factory samples only.

I have digressed from the original topic - but hey - I did start it!
I do recommend Pa700/1000/3x/4x owners to give the pianos a try which are available here:

I personally love the piano sounds in the package. I have not upgraded to the latest version, and still have the previous version. I may upgrade to the latest one, but I love the sound of the one I am using now :)

I tell all of my keyboard friends about the piano samples. I use them every day in my music ministry at the nursing homes. I use them in my sequences.

Thank you for a great sample pack.

Grace,
Harry

Just advising that there have been a couple of updates to these pianos.
Version 5.3 released earlier in the month much improves the included Rhodes EP's.
Version 5.4 released September 20, 2019 adds support for Repedaling on piano sounds.
Repedaling is for the fussy (usually classical) pianist that allows playing a note or chord with the pedal up then releasing the keys followed by quickly putting the pedal down to give a lower level ringout of the sound.
I should have added this from the beginning!
For the latest version go to the first post here:

Thank you Reuben for sharing the Piano and Acoustic guitar sounds.
Loaded guitar sounds, they are great. Couldn't load the Piano unfortunately because of not enough memory, Moved from Technic to Korg recently. I am still learning how to customize Pa1000. I am grateful for this forum some responses to my questions saves me a lot of time.

Regards,

Al
