Problem importing 90% of wav files to Korg Kross 2

Greetings!
Recently joined the Korg Family by getting a Kross 2. I love it so much and am fairly new to the world of sampling and midi and all that... I’m experiencing issues with the vast majority of samples I try to import from my laptop. It gives the “unsupported file type” error. They are all saved in the ‘DATA’ folder on the sd card and it has been properly formatted.
I’m trying to load samples up on the pads for live performance and out of 20, so far only 2 have made it thru.
Any and all help appreciLOVED!
Bless

Welcome aboard!! Samples must be 16bit wav, 44.1 or 48 khz. I found out that importing wav files within global/media mode, by means of selecting the file in the explorer then function then import, works better for long files: audio songs. Perhaps it works for samples too.
Regards,
JJ

Struggling! I tried to import them that way but it made no difference. I’m using the splice program to import samples onto the sd card... I’m not very technologically strong but has the program I’m using have anything to do with it? Shouldn’t they all technically be able to be imported? Help!
Thank you

I usually just copy the wav file into the data folder, perhaps your wav isn't formatted correctly, try a different converter. For instance you can try out one of the samples from this site:
https://freewavesamples.com/sample-type ... tral/bells
If those samples works, then the problem is within your conversion tool

I had a similar problem a couple of months ago - I think it was to do with the lenght of the audio clip - it didn't like anything over 14 seconds. I cropped the audio clip using Audicity and re-imported and it worked ok.
Hope you manage to resolve. I'm now attempting to use Cakewalk DAW with the Kross 2 - so far so good in that I connected via USB audio to my laptop and after a few tweaks to the preferences, can now record via midi and playback audio exactly as recorded.
