My Original Kronos Is Dead-Nothing @ Power On.

Set up my live system for a new gig and went to power on the Kronos...nothing. I guess it must be the power supply. Thank goodness it made it all the way through my last gig and that I discovered it before my next concert. I ordered a replacement power supply, hopefully that will bring it back to life.

I would guess that, too. Be careful on this DIY. electricity, the exact replacement model.
I know I would pass on DIY.

Hopefully thats it. If you are not lucky on the guess a few more things are possible. Like SSD.

Lots of guesswork.

Well, not even the fans are starting up...really dead...no lights, no sign of life. If the power supply doesn’t do it, then it could be the switch assembly.

I would suspect the drive or RAM if it even started to boot, but flick the switch and nothing happens inside the box (I have it open).

Has the power cable been tested?

I like void's power cable suggested - make sure the cable is firmly seated.
To your Kronos and to your outlet.

My K doesn't fire up until 4 seconds elapse. there might be an underlying process check. At 5 secs, the fan goes on, make typical startup noise.

I am not expert or qualified for on line diagnosis.

Let us know what went down when you can. Many of us have the original K.
Its good to have some leading info on part failure .

Thanks

Three cables and two different outlets. Thanks!

Does the Kronos have auto power off and might this have operated? If so, the Kronos power switch requires a reasonably hard press towards the on position to overcome the motor driven mechanism that turns it off.

I have never used auto power off, though it’s possible the switch has failed.

Did the original Kronos have auto-off?

Thanks!

If the board has auto power off, then there will be an option to change it in the Global settings.

If I could only get to that page....

Nope. My Kronos X doesn't have it, either.

I put in the new power supply and my Kronos booted up. Woohoo!!

I am glad it was an easy fix. It was pretty much the same as replacing a power supply in a PC, because that is what it is.

That's great to hear. I know it's a big relief that it was an easy fix.

A couple weeks ago the Nord Stage 2 that I bought from a shop in the Netherlands was dead... no power up.

I was fretting over it for about a week, and the nightmare it would take to get it shipped and fixed. Turned out it was just a fuse that needed to be replaced.

Now you can make up for lost time on your Kronos.

Excellent.

Now it will be possible to go to "that" page (what was I thinking?) and see if the auto power off option is available :-) My Kronos X later model has it.

Curious, where do you set the Auto Power off? Is it in GLOBAL / Basic?
