Controlling Neo Ventilator speed from Kronos

I've never really used my Vent on the Kronos yet but I'd like to try it by taking the mono signal from individual output to the Vent, and feeding the stereo signal back into the Kronos through the line inputs.

Is there a way I can control the Vent rotary speed from the Kronos (e.g. JS+Y) or am I now forced to used the button on the Vent (or a half-moon switch / another pedal)?

Going off the Sweetwater pics and specs,
it doesn't look like the Neo Vent has any MIDI capability.
So that rules out controlling it via Kronos joystick, etc.

But...

I see there is a Remote input on it.
Looks like Neo has already thought about your situation.
For another $69, you can use their Vent Remote pedal.

Do you already have a footswitch?
What happens if you plug it into the Vent Remote jack?

Thanks for your reply. I have a latching foot switch somewhere if I can find it, and that should work similarly to a half-moon switch (which I actually have been using with the Vent). Not sure if non-latching foot switches will work, but I can try with a sustain pedal later.

The reason I'd prefer to use JS+Y on the Kronos is because I already use three different pedals in my setup regularly (sustain/damper, program switch and swell/volume). I'd like to avoid adding a 4th pedal, to be honest.

My idea is that when I use JS+Y for rotary speed (like the CX-3 organs do), the internal signal should act just like a latching foot switch. If there is a way to route this signal from the Kronos and into the REMOTE input on the Vent, it should control the Vent speed.

Mayeb a 5-pin MIDI to TRS-jack cable

It might be worth considering the MIDI Solutions Relay unit, which contains a MIDI-controlled contact closure that can be programmed to respond to a wide range of MIDI messages. That contact closure can then be used to control the Vent.

The setup utility can be downloaded from the MIDI Solutions website, so you can see what is possible before buying. Programming is done via MIDI, and the device is MIDI-powered.

Yes, Midi Solution Relay works, i'm using it.
You only have to cross tip and ring connection on a stereo cable.

Yep! Neo use the Yamaha / Korg wiring ie the plug ring is wiper or switched signal not the tip.

MIDI ==> relay :o

Should've guessed MIDI Solutions would have figured this out already.

Looks like it might be time to build yourself a little guitarist-style pedalboard for all your foot pedals.

Would make gig setup and breakdown much easier...
