How can I make lights stay on when I change scenes?

I recently purchased a Korg NanoKontrol Studio so that I can control Reaper.
I’ve assigned all the buttons on the left (play, record, cycle etc.) to global, however, if I have a button such as the play button selected, and then I click the scene button, reaper will keep playing but the light on the controller will go off. Is there a way around this?
