Goodbye and best wishes to you all.

Post by Biggles »

Quite a day, with both my Pa and my Kross 2 being sold.

The result is that I am now Korg-less.

Nor am I currently planning to buy another Pa.

Waiting to see what NAMM reveals before deciding on what keyboard I am going to buy.

Hence I am bowing out of the forum.

Good luck and best wishes to you all.

Sorry to see you go. Your insight and recommendations helped all who read them; I know that they did for me.

If you are Korg-less, are you completely keyboard-less now too? I do not ever imagine that I could stay sane without at least one board of some kind that I could be creative on...

Be safe and I offer best wishes upon you, sir :)

Harry

Biggles,
Wow, that's quite the leap, selling off your Pa700 and Kross. Why are you jumping ship? For me anyways, I'm reluctant to leave a platform I've spent a lot of time learning and customizing.

Anyways, always appreciated your input on this forum, you've been perhaps the most consistent, knowledgeable contributor on this forum during the time I've been a part of it!

Many thanks for your kind comments, very much appreciated.

Yes I am totally keyboard-less, keys have nit been my first live,
I am a strings guy.

I am not music free as I still have my Gibson LP, Fender Jazz Bass and a brace of Ukes, keyboards may come and go but my Gibson and Fender will be with me for the rest of my life.

Awaiting NAMM to see what comes new that I like the look of.

Currently number one on the short list requires jumping ship over to Roland for their FA 88 workstation.

Then it is a Pa4X which really needs an update so it is a long way down the list.

The mire I play the less I was using the auto accompaniment and the more I wanted a better keybed and many more keys

So whilst I will not be here except for the odd pop in, I will be over at the keyboard forum.

Keep rocking

You are the best poster on this site Biggles. We learn most from you. The majority here just rubbish the Pa4X and now they have started on the Pa1000. They do not reply to basic questions like you do. Too busy trashing the reputation of Korg. OK, to be fair, KORG are half to blame for not addressing our problems.

Pleased that you are still doing the Keyboard Forum. Try to expand it if you can and pass on your knowledge to us Korgies. Look forward to logging in. Go for it.

All the best

Sort of joining you here after having played Korg as my major arranger keyboard at home ( no gigging).
Sold my PA1000 and for a few hundred quid more bought myself a used Ketron SD7 and......wait for it.......................Korg PA50sd !!
And guess what ? I haven't been as content with my arranger stuff as I am at present for a long long time. Obviously I could use the extensive programming that I did way back when ( JS Resources PA80, PA50, KMA, etc) for my PA50sd.
I know it has been superseded by time, what isn't , but it has the Triton engine on board and for some reason or other there is a lot more power in it than what I managed to get out of the PA1000. As to emulating the natural instruments like piano, sax, etc. the Ketron is doing an excellent job and of course their drums are second to none.
Anyway Biggles good luck to you in your quest for a new arranger, but remember brand new is not always necessarily an improvement :D :D :D

Regards
John

That was so funny I wet myself.

Kinda embarrassing given my advanced age and where I was when I read your message.
