This article says that the Korg M! Legacy edition contains the PCM programs of the Korg Symphony Module:

http://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/symphony-03

However - this Korg page doesn't mention that:

Anyone got any insight on this?

Thanks,
Kevin.

Good Question!!

I could find no resource that explicitly stated the Korg 03 Symphony Module programs are in the Korg Legacy M1.

However, they might be.

Accorging to the History Of Korg (Sound on Sound), in 1988 Korg released:
-- Korg M1 61-note
-- O3 Symphony Orchestral Sound Module
-- PC piano module

Korg 03 Symphony Orchestra Module

Here is a YouTube video demoing all of the sounds
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeXwFBMRamI

The 03 had the following seven patches:
1. Strings 1
2. Strings 2
3. Chorus
4. Brass
5. Bass/Guitar/Drums
6. Organ 1
7. Organ 2

Some of these appear to really be combis.

In the Legacy M1, in Program Browser, you can see all of the patches by type. Likewise you can do the same in Combi Browser. There are programs and combis that have similar names, e.g Strings 2, Chorus.

Given these were created the same year as the M1, and given the Legacy M1 contains ALL of the sounds and optional expansion cards from the M1, M1EX, T-series, I suspect the Korg Symphony Sounds are in there somewhere.
