Dust while playing PA1000

Post by midiciay »

Hi everybody, I get a dust like smell from the P1000 while playing, especially by loud playing. It clogs my nose and throat and i use mask when i play it. I cleaned speakers and inside of keyboard and I didn`t see any excess dust. Could this come from electronic components ? I bought this as used 6 months ago, everything works fine except this.

Get it checked out before it possibly fails.

If by chance you can swing the cover open. But lots of screws on bottom and To know which ones? Use canned air to clean boards. Most likely power amp / power supply area. If you ever opened up and looked in a computer tower, you will be amazed at the dust in the fan area...
Keyboard must have been in dusty environment...

I opened and replaced the pitch bend last week, I didn`t see any excessive dust. But I also opened plywood cover at the back and washed the damping polyester materials. Since than it looks ok for now.
