Bonusware review SET for PA4X (now 01-42)

Hi everyone

Well as I seem to have a bit of time to kill, I decided to grab all 40 of the Bonusware styles volumes and organize them for anyone who wants to easily try them. I have done this with all 42 bonusware style sets from the Korg bonusware download site.

Quite a few styles from the earlier bonusware sets have already been re-vamped and included as PA4X factory styles. I have removed these duplicates (apologies if I have actually missed one or two) so you should only see bonus styles that are NOT already in the PA4X default factory banks. Also there are some styles in the bonusware volumes that have the same names as factory styles but are actually different styles – example is “Cool Pop” - I have added a “ B” to these styles’ names to identify that it is a bonusware style so in this example you will see a “Cool Pop” and a “Cool Pop B” when performing a style search.

I have organized these styles in FAVORITE banks and labeled the banks to indicate the source bonusware volume e.g.:

v01_06 – styles from bonusware volumes 01 to 06 are in this bank
v07_11 – styles from bonusware volumes 07 to 11 are in this bank
…….
…….
v37_40 – styles from bonusware volumes 37 to 40 are in this bank

You can try these out if you wish either by loading the SET or by linking the SET as a direct set - either way, perform a full backup first (MEDIA>>Save>>"Save All").

If you LOAD my SET, it will overwrite all internal FAVORITE style banks and GLOBAL settings – GLOBAL is there so that my FAVORITE bank names will be displayed.

If you select it as a DIRECT set then my FAVORITE bank names will also be displayed when you look under “DIRECT” tab.

For anyone who is unsure about backup and/or linking a DIRECT set etc…, please let me know and I’ll add some instructions.

Take care & stay safe

Pete :D

I was just about to do the same. Did you also take in account the bonus user styles which are allready present/loaded as part of OS v3 NEXT?

You saved me a lot of time which I now will use to write & play music! :-D Thank you!!!!

Regards,
Arjen

Yes, this compilation was based on my installation of OS3.1.0 with its complete factory styles and compared with all the bonusware to date for duplicates.
This included the styles which were also made available separately in the OS 3.1.0 update (called "Pa4X NEXT Musical Resources.SET")

Cheers

Karmathanever what is total amount of styles in SET?
Did you use Korg PaManager to prepare this collection or do it manually?
