I agree. 64 bit won't happen, as Korg will not re-write the OSGalf2 wrote:Maybe x64 is not real? Since it requires rewriting the OS from the very beginning, and therefore it's very resource intensive.
too expensive.
and Kronos already has polyphony issues. The OS can't swap voices fast enough.
Hav 1 more. Native Karma is dead for development on Kronos.
Stephen has the software available for folks
of course, I am ok in being persuaded otherwise.
GregC I agree with you.
So at the moment impossible there are three:
1. No motherboard DIY
2. No x64 OS
3. No new version Karma
But I think very important and very real:
1. Increase free user banks and free wavesequence banks.
2. 64-bit KRONOS Editor and Plug-In Editor for Windows
(In general, the lack of x64 Plug-In is just a shame to be honest.)

I think that sums it up pretty well.Galf2 wrote:Update List:

4. No change in SEQ
5. No new engines
IF Korg were to add features it will be the features that take up very little time to implement.
I still remain the sceptic and I think the only updates we will see for the Kronos are bug fixes.

So we’re debating what we think Korg wouldn’t do because it’s too expensive or the hardware is insufficient?
I’m not sure I agree that a few SEQ tweaks would be out of the question. For example adding markers shouldn’t be so tough. There’s already locator functionality. It’s just beefing that up a little. I wouldn’t even think a piano roll would be that much of a stretch since they already built one for Krome.
I wouldn’t think a new synth engine would be out of the question either. It’s kind of Korg’s thing and they still have plenty they could just port over.
I do agree asking for some kind of DIY or even authorized dealer performed hardware upgrade is a non-starter. And a complete OS rewrite doesn’t seem likely.

And the least we can say is that the last update for the Kronos from Korg (The split prog function) is really not convincing, because imperfectly built.

trees are going fast.

well, if we need to dissect the 'split ' function, I think a separate topic should have been started some 3 years ago.kronoSphere wrote:And the least we can say is that the last update for the Kronos from Korg (The split prog function) is really not convincing, because imperfectly built.
And maybe it has, I don't recall.
It should be emphasized, the split function is from 3.1.1
That is from an OS enhancement from 3 years, and 5 months ago.
That last OS rev is from March 2019. It was 100% Bug Fix.
No ' feature enhancements ' on 3.1.3
I am not complaining.
Statying we should be aware that Korg has not provided a new feature or ' feature enhancement' for over 3 years on Kronos.
I would that ‘bug’ fixing rather than enhancing the engine.GregC wrote:IMO, Korg ' should be ' enhancing and correcting the existing 9 engines.
For example,, SGX-2 or perhaps its simply the sample, German Grand has obvious out of tune notes.
Out of tune notes should not be there and should be addressed in an update regardless of whether or not KORG is working on a successor.

couldn't have said it better.Jan1 wrote:I would that ‘bug’ fixing rather than enhancing the engine.GregC wrote:IMO, Korg ' should be ' enhancing and correcting the existing 9 engines.

I don't find it acceptable to simply ' get use to ' an out of tune note[s] on what's marketed as a world class sample/engine.
And its been 9 years. Can owners hear the same issue and agree ? Thats a purpose of this topic.
I think I have a ranking system that is simple :
P1 = a significant and " must have " issue. Whether its a bug, a defect or overdue needed enhancement. Its top Priority and we want Korg Inc to solve it promptly , get to work on it, resolve it quickly etc.
P2 = a ' nice to have ' Korg fixit issue . Could be a small but annoying bug. Could be small performance issue. Unnecessary navigation. Confusing terminology. A menu fix. Etc etc
P3 = everything else
Comments ?
