D888 SNG file format

Post by BryanDay »

Hello,

Does anyone have a breakdown of the D888's .SNG file format? I'm attempting to rescue some songs from an old machine that no longer functions. I've copied the files from the hard drive to my computer, but I'm having trouble lining them up due to numerous overdubs at what appear to be differing start times. Looking at the file in a Hex editor, I see a header that seems to include 8 separate similar chunks of data which I'm sure includes time or frame info, but I'm having trouble deciphering them. Has anyone ever dug into this?

Here's the hex of the header for a simple song with only 2 channels of audio.
00000000 40 47 47 00 31 27 00 00 40 40 40 00 5B 38 00 00
00000010 72 40 40 00 40 00 00 00 40 40 40 00 40 00 00 00
00000020 40 40 47 00 40 00 00 00 40 7F 4B 00 40 00 00 00
00000030 40 40 7F 00 40 00 00 00 40 65 7F 46 00 00 00 00

If this format hasn't been mapped out, I can do it and post it here, but it would be nice if someone else has done this work already.
Thanks.
