Always did I want to get rid of that dreaded wallwart.
Outside with a Wavedrum and even with an FX pedal, a looper or recorder ..
Im having my DIY soldering solution already for a while.
Now in 2020 there is an easy and cheapo solution for non solderers.

Basics first:
The Wavedrum is powered by 9 Volt DC positive tip ,
current draw 240 mA, maybe a bit more during startup.

This cable gives you 9 Volt from any powerbank USB port,
attached plug is 5,5mm 2,1mm positive tip

THE ADAPTER
5.5.mm 2.1mm to Korg small 9 Volt input

also works for Korg Volka and ... what else Korg ???

Alternative USB to 9 Volt converters:

You could also use someting like this with a 9 Volt otput

I hope this helps you to get outside, outside always better.

Hello Waterdrum, this is very interesting to me. Do you talk about a Wavedrum Global Edition? The Global has a draw of 1,7 A as I read in the manual. Will it work with the myVolt Adapter? Thanks for an answer

These 1.7 A are the max current that the Korg wallwart can deliver.

The WD uses only 240 mA or a bit more.
This was measured by Midisaron some years ago.
The Global is not much different.
Just do it ... happy.

THANK YOU WATERDRUM!!!!!
After I damaged one of my wall warts I bought a couple of ripcords and a some $5 powerbanks. I was able to coil up and stow all the extra cord in the open space for the sensor height adjustment screw and secure the battery over the opening using adhesive backed velcro strips. The convieniece is amazing. I can play/program anywhere with headphones for a few hours on a single charge and the power banks I'm using are small enough to not interfere with the way it sit's in a snare stand.
My next project is figuring out an alternative to the snare stands that will work better for playing the wave drum with my hands.

maybe its a good idea to use it with some extra rubber buffering between plate and WD

the best stand imo (mounting plate included)

Hello WaterDrum,
how do you attach the Wavedrum to the Mounting Plate? I can't find any screw holes on my Global Edition.

Best regards

Markus
