How to send release MIDI CC to DAW?

I've got a rather odd conundrum. It should be an intuitive thing; just adjust the EG\Release knob to adjust the MIDI release sent out from the keyboard. But it doesn't change a thing.
With my Yamaha MX61, it works just like it should; you adjust the knob, and the MIDI CC is sent to Studio One.
How would I rejigger the M50 to do the same?
