E2 MIDI channels and Parts

Post by cmitch2007 »

Hi all.

Weird one this but wonder if you guys will be able to assist.

So I have my E2 sending notes to my FA06 (FA06 set to receive from the E2 in the Studio set Tone in SEQ track 01) which works fine but I have another Pattern where I have the same PART for Part 01 but have sequences on Parts 9, 10 and 11 for drums, playing the E2 internal sounds, however those parts also seem to send data to the FA06 as well. I have muted those channels/Tones in the Studio set on the FA06 but it looks like the E2 is sending all the parts to MIDI Channel 1 to the FA06.

Is there a way to prevent the E2 from sending Parts 9,10, 11 or whatever to the FA06 except for Part 1?

GlobaL Channel is set to MIDI channel 1 but is there a way to mute the other channels of the E2 sending to the FA06?

Thanks in advance.

Mitch.

The E2 can only send each part on its respective channel. I haven't used an FA06, but it sounds like it may be set to Omni mode, receiving on all channels.

Ahhhh thank you Russell. I knew E2 sent Note data from each part corresponding to each Midi Channel, and that's what threw me off when the FA06 was receiving from all the parts, but did not know about Omni channel for the Fa06.

I'll dig through the Menu now and see if I can turn that off.

Thanks again.
