Perhaps not the most exciting news, but considering the quality of what is offered both the Yamaha and Hammond performance keyboards are definitely worth your attention.
Prior to the ‘believe in music’ week as a replacement for the traditional NAMM tradeshow Yamaha have released a 73 and an 88 keys version of the YC-61 with weighted balanced keys(73) and hammer action keys (88 ).
Hammond introduced the SK Pro in a 61 and 73 keys version, here’s a demo from Bonners: https://youtube.com/watch?v=k6S1FBu3WJc
Although the Yamaha sounds great my own preference is for Hammond’s SK Pro: really excellent tonewheel emulation, great useful sounds in other categories, a really good Leslie emulation and the distortion also sounds very good to my ears.
