MIDI thru question.

Post by horsegrip »

Was working at one point, but not now

MIDI keyboard (Ch1)->MIDI Thru of Rack
MIDI In/Out eMagic 8x8 MIDI interface <Korg> On
Controller-> KORG
Sys Exc-> Ch1

Tested MIDI keyboard on other devices=ok
Tested Keyboard straight in Rack Midi In=ok

Am I missing something?

Another question, can I do a factory reset without losing and reloading all combi/banks/etc?

Regards

MIDI Thru is a simple buffered output of the MIDI data coming through the MIDI In port. There is no data path back to the MIDI In port from MIDI Thru. This means that connecting a MIDI keyboard to MIDI Thru will not be "seen" by the Triton Rack's tone generator.

It depends on what is needed from the setup.

Connecting the MIDI keyboard's MIDI Out to the Triton Rack's MIDI In will allow the MIDI keyboard to play the Triton Rack tone generator. If the MIDI keyboard's MIDI data also need to be passed to the PC, then connect the Triton Rack's MIDI Thru to one of the eMagic's MIDI Ins, and configure the eMagic and the software on the PC appropriately.

There will be other setups, but their configuration will depend on what the system is intended to do.
