exb-moss in trinity

Hello!
I am wondering if anybody has tried installing the exb-moss of the triton series into the trinity!
The board number is the same (KLM-2076) on both so as far as connectivity it should be 100% compatible.
But do the boards have the same or compatible firmware on them?!

They do indeed look similar, but EXB-MOSS seems to have an extra chip (the large one just left of centre)

^ EXB-MOSS (Triton).

I know EXB-MOSS functionality is different to the MOSS-TRI in that the Triton Moss board is multi-timbral (can use several Moss sounds at the same time within the 6-voice polyphony constraint) but the Trinity Moss is mono-timbral (only one Moss sound can be used at any time).

Exactly!the only difference is that IC, even the pcb number is the same (KLM-2076) on both!
Thats why i m questioning if the triton moss will work in trinity!
The opposite most probably will not work but the newer to older may work!
I have an exb-moss and a trinity so i may test it myself to see.
If i find the time to do it i will report here..

The extra chip on the EXB-MOSS I think is a Fujitsu 4-Mbit flash ROM chip, possibly containing the F-bank preload data.

If you look at the chip above that chip, the text "EXB-MOSS" is stamped on the Triton/Karma version, but not on the Trinity version. Whatever Korg-specific content is on that ASIC chip could be a source of incompatibility.

I don't know if the EXB-MOSS board is compatible with a Trinity. Everything I've read indicates they are not compatible. But just like you're asking, I don't know of anybody who has tried it (or risked it).

Well , i came back to give an update...
Long story short , it doesn't get recognized...
I tried both with internal and external configuration but nope...
The flash IC is the program the cpu runs.If you look closely, on the trinity , the jumper is set to internal (and no flash IC) but on the triton , it is set to external and has the flash IC..
Unless there is a way to dump the program from the trinity and write it to the triton flash IC, i doubt there is anything left to do.
The only possibility is , if there are ID resistors on the board and they are different ,but without schematics of the board, it is not easy to find out , except from comparing the values of components of the 2 boards...

Well, darn it. Thanks for following up with the definitive answer.
