MP3 files contain compressed audio data, whilst PCG files basically contain settings data for Programs, Combis and Globals e.g. for Programs, the PCG data specifies which samples to use, the various Program parameters to be applied, including the effects chain and its settings.
If you wish to be able to play sounds on the keyboard that are contained in an MP3, then it will have to be sampled, either as direct audio in or from a .WAV file. The Pad Sampler section of the Kross Operation Guide details the necessary steps.
