Have the updates for Kross 2 finished?

Post by hans1966 »

Hello Guys, it will be almost two years since the last update 1.2.1 of Kross 2

Things I would like to see in a next update

1. Increased expansion memory for samples (With a minimum of 500MB)

2. possibility to import samples in Aiff, Akai s1000 / 3000, and Sf2 format

3. More sample editing tools (full edit, time interval

4. in sequencer mode: possibility to assign independent (different) effects to each track

These are just my thoughts
Hans

Hi,

1. This will not happen I think. There is probably simply not more memory available in the board. So that would mean a hardware update.
2. That would be nice, but could also be worked around with a decent tool on a PC released by Korg which converts those file types to Korg formats which can be loaded afterwards to the board.
3. May be possible.
4. This will not happen neither I think, it increases drastically the required hardware resources in terms op memory and DSP horsepower. If there was plenty of capacity left, I would think they would have that enabled already in earlier releases. Not to forget the marketing strategy for this feature compared to the more high end boards (Krome, Nautilus and so on). They will not let Kross outperform those I'm afraid...

Hello OpAmp, thank you very much for your prompt reply.

I was hoping for an improvement in the resources or work tools in the Kross 2, but I think this is what it is, until Korg decides otherwise.

regards
Hans

I know this is an old thread, but as far as I know you can in fact send different sequencer tracks to different insert effects? Unless you mean the step sequencer, in which case you can’t.

Hi SeedyLee,

Well to some extent you are right.
You have 5 insert effect slots. So, if you have a song which uses only 5 out of the 16 tracks, then you can assign a different effect per track (assuming you choose the effects that only occupy one insert slot).
If you go beyond the 5 tracks, you will need to route more than 1 track to the same insert effect.

Have fun!

thanks guys for your answers.

I had to sell my Kross 2 8 months ago, due to economic necessity

I am currently saving some money to be able to emigrate to Spain in April of next year and start a new life from scratch.

regards
Hans

I'm really sorry to hear that. It's never nice to have to sell things out of necessity.

Hopefully things get back on track for you soon.

Hi Seedylee, unfortunately that is the case.

I travel to Spain in May, with the favor of God, in search of a better quality of life

I know that it is not easy to start from scratch, but with time I know that I will manage to make a place for myself in that land.

greetings
Hans
