KorgUSA emailed a bunch of distributors that i know saying that the Pa4x has been discontinued. Hopefully they are manufacturing the replacement in house because outsourcing will mean no more machines for quite some time

I have just followed this up and was informed (directly) that the PA4X is still current - also, no official news of a replacement.

Not arguing with what you have heard of course but it could be just another rumour.

Which distributors have reported this?

Cheers

I heard from a few local stores in Brooklyn that are Korg Distributors and they all got the email from KorgUSA

Could it be that this may just be in the U.S. where arranger sales lag considerably behind the rest of the world? Or is it the start of a general phasing out? We'd all hope not.

So we wait now and see....
I had direct contact with the main distributor for my country and they were not ware of any announcement but then USA seem to mostly be on top of things.

Long & McQuade, nationwide stores up here in the Great White North, are showing only the oriental Pa4x (61 and 76).

So any word there is a new model coming out or should I buy a PA4x before they’re gone?

No, don’t buy a discontinued model, unless it’s heavily discounted!
You will be so disappointed, if a new model released a few days after you paid your money.
Don’t worry, they will be always available on second hand market - so even if Korg-Italy cease to exist. If you need one urgently - the best way to get a second hand one right now! In this case, you will not lose much money. Keep in mind, Korg TOTL arrangers are of very high quality, so it’s not that risky to buy them used, providing they are in good condition and from a reliable trader (with good feedback rating).

A new Pa4X 76 is £2700 herein the UK

A used one is listed at £2250

Not to long ago ie pre Covid, a new 76 key version was less than £2500.

So no heavy discounting is taking place here, in fact the opposite.

"76" is still available here in NZ at NZD6,899 (USD4,650 approx)
No discounts (quite a normal thing for our crappy NZ retailers), no second-hand ones... and it doesn't mean anything.

All in all, its time for a replacement..

They took their time, so i really hope we will see a considerable update with quite some innovations..

If we're really lucky, they're working on the next big workstation and next big professional arranger behind the scenes.

And it will blow all our minds.

If not - well, KORG is just leaving the whole keyboard thing behind except for basic synths.
