Seq; copy from program, other channels don't play anything

Post by MrMusAddict »

When I initialize a new sequence and hit "Copy from Program" and check the "with Karma" box, the program copies over successfully. But then if I change the midi channel from 1 to 2 so that I can add a new instrument, no sound comes out whatsoever.

Can anyone point me to how I can enable those channels to actually output sound after copying from a program?

Hi there!

Where are you changing the channel?
Now let’s think of a reason why it CAN be done...

Hi there!

I'm changing the channel by clicking the channel dropdown, in the top left directly below the song dropdown.

It's like the sequence completely turns off any/all input for every other channel when I Copy from Program; just the first channel plays something, and every other channel is unresponsive.

I’m guessing you have KARMA on.

If you look at the KARMA tab and at the MIDI I/O section you’ll see that modules A thru D are linked to MIDI channels 1 thru 4 by default. When you activate KARMA it will process all 4 MIDI channels regardless of whether their GE’s are set to run or not. In other words, if there is no running GE for your MIDI channel then it will be silent because KARMA doesn’t know what to do with it.

You can change the KARMA MIDI channel or the PART channel so that KARMA is not processing it if you just want to play the keyboard.

Hope this helps

One other possibility is your sustain pedal. Unplug your pedals and see if that changes anything. This happens with my Kronos and a Yamaha pedal.
