No signal when sampling?

Hi all
Sometime ago I got a broken Korg OASYS 76 that I just managed to bring back to life, but unfortunately it has some issues...
One of them is with the pads, that seem to stop working and then trigger randomly, but I think I got a workaround that issue...
The other one, is with sampling...
I can use external gear with my Korg OASYS (the vocoder patch works great), but when I go to the sampling mode, the meters don't change at all...
I changed the source to be the inputs I connected my other gear to, but nothing, despite with the effects patch those inputs work fine and I even get an ADC Overload message displayed...
When I am in Program or Combi mode, I also tried to go to the sample option in those modes, use the L/R option for source, as it is the default, but again, I can play, hear sound, but the meters don't change at all... :S
I tried to check if there was any video showing how to sample, but I honestly can't get what I am doing wrong to have it never displaying any signal... :S
Can this be an issue with RAM?
One of the RAM sticks that was inside seems to be busted, as I could only re-authorize the unit and restore it after removing it, so I was assuming the other should be just fine...
If not, what else can be the issue? :S
Thanks in advance, best regards, Paulo
