Are you referring to the power supply? If so the Yamaha Genos is the same and I see no problem providing design/specification is of high quality...
This is quit common... for instance..I have seen inside marine hardware costing may more times than PA5X with similar configurations for the power supply...
Perfectly normal in the world of electronics.. sometimes you can source the power supply and sometimes you may build one.. doesn't matter which way you do it, providing it is of high-quality

this .ro website posted thie first leaks of the pa. maybe it is real - maybe a prototype. if you want to know open your pa5x (and loose perhaps warranty).
Ãm sure it is better to mount standard components where ever possible than build proprietary things.
so i find nothing bad if it works on stage.
i see you are owner of a lionstracs. i had also one. that was what i call „not built for use stage“. open and see …

Sorry but for me this is not OK!
Because I paid almost €5000 for it!
One strip cost 10 cents!
They could have better solution for this one.
Manny people may think this is NOTHING and normal.
Isn’t Korg the mothership of all keyboards?
If all will work anyway, Which think it does, it’s ok,
I just hope they are more careful with the new OS/UI.

i think best way you open the pa5x and have a look. if it‘s not good give it back to seller. or maybe korg directly.
i think we all are end users here.
i for myself don‘t belive some youtube bashing vids. Some things look strange in the video. there are only pictures moved. no moving cam. i nowhere see a korg logo inside. and the picture shows only inside or outside - but not a combination. so i don‘t belive. I want to see it with my eyes. but i don‘t have a pa5x.

I think it’s not a Fake video!
Why make a fake video like that?

simply to earn clicks (money) on it. there are also vids of destroying snew smartphones. there you can also ask for reasons ... clicks and money.
also funny: at minute 1:36 it shows removed key-springs ... that makes no sense for me. i still don't belive this vid.
you can ask someone here to open it for you and tske pics. or ask your seller would if he want to. but its on own risk to loose warranty or damage something.

Then Asena maybe it's time to step back from PA5X for now and importantly save your sanity as it is very clear you are hugely disappointed and I do understand and respect that...but you venting around here won't change the present situation in the immediate future of which I am not in denial but am sure will improve and remember we all have a choice....
Constructive criticism and diplomacy will take you further than your present stance and tone which is starting to look a little less rational and logical each day if you continue to chastise yourself round here.
I am sure KORG are very aware of the general feelings and problems at this time and i feel sure if your level of frustration continues as it has then this will only hurt you in the end.... take care.

İ
Already know that,
I have the Pa x here, and of course I will give it a try.
What I meant, I think we all waited for this upgraded kb, but manny things started badly.
Let’s hope all will be good for all of us in the end.

if you have a pa5x why do you not open it and see ??
this is a private user forum and korg is not here.
if you have problems with your pa5x so go directly to korg or your seller.
once again i don't belive this video. it's only sense is to earn klicks.
and btw what exactly is your (constructive) critism?
the electronic prints, the cables? the powersupply?
i don't write again to this. if you don't like the keyboard so buy simply another one witch fits better your needs.

Guys, it’s quite common for a PSU to be installed inside a product in it’s complete casing. It simplifies the CE certification process, and you get something far more easily repairable. These are all Universal Power Switching too, meaning one PSU will work everywhere in the world regardless of your local voltage.

Sharp.

Exactly!
Here the "issue" (not really an issue but one can see it more like a way to go cheap) is that they use plastic wraps to hold the psu in place..
That has something very positive though and that is reducing weight!
Pa5x is already heavier than 4x and that made it a bit lighter so it a yes from me hahahaha!
I am a bit disappointed it is 19 volt though as it is more difficult to make it battery operated now (unless it still works with 12 and 15 volts)!
Now that i think of it, maybe the bigger headroom that most of us that bought it can hear could be the higher voltage which allows it to be able to have it.
Of course without the schematics or measurements about the actual voltage on the DACs we can't say for sure...

Having used them far too often to tie down all manner of s**t including the kids trampoline, you got to admit, those puppies are near indestructible.
