PA5x Styles / good practices and song recommendations

Post by andfri78 »

I have bought before new year a Korg PA5x 76.

Firstly, I really like the sounds of the PA5x. Pianos, Pads, Synths, Sax, Woodwind etc. are very nice.

Secondly, In this thread I would like to collect good practices and song recommendations for edited / adjusted styles and how you improve / come to them.

How I'm doing it?
I'm not a fan of the factory style settings with full arrangements. But as soon as I
1. Focus - Start to reduce to a minimum, start only with Drums and Bass and deselect ACC1 to ACC5
2. Get Pressure - Increase volume of Drums and Bass, get pressure
3. Get it alive - Change the Drum Kit to a Factory one on the first page (e.g. Pop Kit 1/2 RR, Pop Kit 1 Amb, Rock Kit 1...)
4. Get it LIVE - Reduce Hall (to a minimum)
5. Use the best sounds - Add only 1 or max 2 accompaint layers and change the sounds of these 1-2 acc layers to the best ones

then out of the sudden the PA5x styles sounds like a real LIVE POP/ROCK BAND!

What good practices do you have to make the best out of your PAx?

Do you have song recommendations, after you have pushed the factory styles to your personal best?[/b]
