I’ve saved a couple mp3 songs to my formatted usb drive. Cannot find them ? How do I load and play an mp3 ? Can I load an mp3 file and record it as a new song ? Then add an additional track or 2 and save the whole thing ? Thank you O Wise Ones !

Insert USB
Select "SONG PLAY" mode
Select Song (player 1 or 2)
Select the USB drive (bottom left Menu)
Select the MP3 from the list

I use CD&G(MP3G) ,as well as SMFs, as registrations, to play and sing over. Mp3 are for break music. I save them in set lists like any other reg.

I’m clearly not adept w the Pa4X yet !
I select a .mp3 file from the usb drive but nothing loads into the player. A .mid file does fine.

Can an mp3 file be saved in Songbook ?

Are you sure you are in "SONG PLAY" mode?
MIDIs and MP3s will definitely play in that mode.
MIDIs can also be "loaded" into "SEQUENCER" mode (a very different mode)

Yes, you can create SONGBOOK entries for MIDI, MP3, STYLE etc...
Please make sure you understand the concepts of SONGBOOK and that it comprises a set of comprehensive registrations with a brilliant "SETLIST" feature - actual MIDI/MP3 data are not held within SONGBOOK entries - SONGBOOK just links to them.

I am most definitely in Song mode.
These files are converted wav files.
Perhaps that has something to do with them not loading ?

What do you use to convert the files to wav format?

I use the music player on my iPad

It's sounding like the conversion is not acceptable by PA4x!!!
Might be worth looking at the MP3 file info/configuration - post it here....

I convert from wav using iTunes, "all2MP3", Audacity with no problems.

So, I got the mp3 files to load and play SOMETIMES, most times I select an mp3 and it doesn’t load ? It’s hit and miss. I don’t understand ? I’m on the current OS…is this a glitch ? Should I reinstall the os ?
Also, I’ve not been able to load a song into player 2. Only 1.
