Sample Builder not accepting note data from Modwave

I have the Builder app working under Win 11; it is connected to the Modwave as shown under Device. Imported samples play on the onscreen keyboard and from other MIDI keyboards, but not from the Modwave. I have checked that the Modwave is set up - it has Local On and it will play other sound devices through the computer, and it is working with the Editor/Librarian.
Any suggestions?
