Keyboard Sets - can someone explain why I need them again?

So, I THOUGHT a keyboard set comprised all 4. But when I load a keyboard set (factory or user) all it loads is the first sound (into number 1) it does not change the other three.

Is that how it is supposed to work? As I wrote above I assumed it was a set of four sounds.

Never really used them much on PA 1,2 or 3....mostly used only a couple of user ones as I ran 95% backing tracks.

So I am not getting something here, just don't know what hahaha!

A 'keyboard set' is like a 'combination' on a Kronos. You can play individual sounds, but that is not the standard way of using this keyboard. You choose a keyboard set, which includes 3 Upper sounds, and 1 Lower sound. There are 4 keyboard sets listed on the screen for you to choose. Also you can pick a keyboard set from the 11 categories. The Pa series is so customize-able you can make it work the way you like working.

Yes I get that, but why does it not recall all four I have set up, and only load the first one? With the other three remaining as whatever was there before?

I have a basic setup where I have piano, ep, gtr and organ as a group of four default sounds...but when I load this, ONLY the piano gets loaded.

That is weird.

Yep, unless there is some lock or switch somewhere I have not found that controls it :)

Maybe this too has something to do with non-changeable factory data??

Yes it's a set of 4 sounds. The first Keyboard Set, Concert Grand, has the four sounds: Concert Grand, Dark Pad, Real Strings 2, Movie Strings 1. If you tap the KBD field and go to, say, the brass page and pick Big Band Brass, the 4 sounds should change to Horn Swell1, Horn Swell 1 (again), Sax Ens. Legato, and Grand Piano. Is that not what you're seeing?

Nope it loads the first one into # 1 fine, the other three don't change. Unless of course that is how the factory has set them up with very similar (or the same really) sounds for the other three sounds.

I am pretty sure it's OE (operator error) but I cannot figure what.

This you describe is malfunction , I think you do it wrong !
In Main Page , select lower tab "MAIN" click on green portion of screen KEYS-Keyboard Set Library , go to FACTORY/Brass and select
2nd BingBand Brass , then press Keys beneath tab and you will see German Grand - Sax Ens - Horns Swell1 - Horns Swell2.
If not then your main interface is messed up , it's not a matter of global settings or a lock that is enabled and you need factory restore.

Maybe a better option is to restore SETTINGS only , via FILE/MENU/Factory Restore/ un-click All square , click only Settings and Restore.
If any factory restore would not solve this problem then reload OS 1.2 in format mode.

Hope this helps

Just to make sure there's no confusion, using my example above, what four sounds do you see for the Concert Grand keyboard set (which is probably what you see when you boot up)? What four sounds do you see when you use the procedure described above to switch to the Big Band Brass keyboard set?

based on what you describe i think you mix up the meaning of the four assigned keyboard sets and the sounds in one keyboard set.

if you select a new keyboard set, then in the keys tab on your main screen you can see the four sounds that are used in that one keyboard set.

It has the description upper 1, 2 3, and lower for the four sounds that makes up one keyboard set.

The bottom 4 numbers are four different keyboard sets

What you are describing is that when you select a new keyboard set that only upper 1 is replaced and upper 2, 3 and lower stays the same. But is that really what you mean?

Nope I never said anything about upper 1,2,3 . I DID write that the four hardware keyboard set buttons did not change, only the first one, the other three stayed the same.

Your explanation that those four buttons actually contain four DIFFERENT keyboard sets explains it! I thought they were the four that got loaded, but it is not them but rather the three upper/low sounds that got changed.
