Wavestate Piano EP Multisample Velocity Levels

Post by samriccijr »

Hi All!

I gigged last weekend with a Wavestate MIDIed to a Karma set to Channel 2. The Karma played piano, dx, rhodes and organ multisamples that I loaded into the Wavestate. The wavestate played brass and pads sounds.

I love the ergonomics of the small top keyboard and the ease of loading my own multisamples. Plus the Wavestate is relatively easy to program and it sounds great too!

The stock Piano and EP are very good. But if you really need a different Rhodes or a Acoustic/DX Piano layer, You can record your own multisamples (I used Logic Autosampler and Chicken Systems Translator Pro) using the following velocity levels:

4 velocity Acoustic Piano 65 97 114 127
8 velocity Electric Piano 48 72 86 97 106 115 123 127

Load your multisamples, select them from the user bank, and start playing!

These factory velocity levels, coupled with negative exponential (log) velocity modulation of shape, result in a smooth velocity curve that emphasizes the upper middle velocities that just works nicely with my Karma and 01/W.

Thank you again, Korg!
