KORG PA4X professional - UPDATE FAILING

Hi all,

a little help please?? Our PA4x Professional arranger.....give us truble

I have downloaded all the different OS in PKG format (2.0, 2.2, 3.1) but none is wokring when we update the keyboard.

We have the old system 1.1.2 (2016) and we never update it....we need to update and we tried with the 2.0 first, not working. Then 2.2 not working, then 3.1 still not working. Tried unzipped, zipped, still give the message " UPDATE FAILED"
Some of the file give " selected PKG file unvalid"

We need to update the keyboard to the latest version. If any one can assist and maybe send us the link(s) will be great. we used the one on the korg website, and it does not work

Hi

Firstly, DO NOT try to update to any OS higher than 2.0 - this must be installed BEFORE you go any higher.
Just confirming that your PA4x is international (not oriental etc...)?

You could try to update to 1.2.4 first (the latest in the "1.x.x" level) but I do not believe that is necessary.
If you want that level, I can make it available to you.

Then go to 2.0.0 (no later!!!!!)

Is your PA4x using the .PKG or .UPD files for updates? (from your post i am guessing PKG)
Have you downloaded a fresh copy of the update?
Have you used a different USB flash drive?

You MUST follow the included instructions - do not try to unpack the PKG/UPD files.

Could you please explain exactly what errors/messages etc you get when you update.....

Thank you Pete for the quick response.
We use PA4x Professional Arranger, using PKG files. We tried to update with 2.0 but still not working. We tried zipped and unzipped file still not working. The system goes till the screen where you have the bar showing the update process then a red writing comes up saying " update failed, PKG file not valid switch off the instrument" and with other files when we select to open from the USB state " PKG file not valid"

Maybe is because since 2016 was never updated? Is still on system 1.1.2
All the update files we download from the korg official website

OK, so just checking:-

1. You've downloaded the OS 2.0.0 again
2. You've used a different USB flash drive
3. You have followed the update instructions exactly as per the included installation manual - very important

You should not be trying zipped files - only the PKG file.

You must install 2.0.0 BEFORE going any higher - this is critical.

Here's a link to OS 1.2.4 - give it a try - if successful, then try the OS 2.0.0

Hi Pete

thank you for the link. the 1.2.4 update worked perfectly.

Unfortunately the 2.0 and 3.1 i downloaded from the KORG site is still not working.

Grateful if you or anyone in the forum can assist us and share the two new OS updates, the 2.0 and the 3.1?

Bear in mind that these are simply ones downloaded from Korg support website.

HI, thank you Pete, finally we manage to install the OS 2.0

To highlight is to have the multiple files all in the same file (1 to 5) but ensure taht the file number 1 is in WINRAR. all the other are direcltly PKG files

Originally i extracted file 1 and did not work

thank you for your assistance and now......we go for the OS V3
