Sync and MIDI Clock

Hello, I am trying today to work with Studio One and PA5x but somehow the behaviour to sync with MIDI Clock seems strange.
How do you manage this? I tried to send MIDI clock to my DAW (Studio One) and am receiving MIDI Clock on CH9. Although there is a current flow of CLOCK-Data, it does not change Tempo in Studio One oder Start and Stop, Clock ist received and DAW set up to react to external Clock. Works with MODX - any ideas?
Then, I thought it would also be possible to record Style Elements with sending the clock to Pa5x. So I chose External Clock (USB). This works mostly, but very inaccurately. DAW and PA5x start, style can be recorded but on stop often the tones are hanging (All Notes Off-Button on Pa does not exist I read here...), sometimes Pa5x does not start correctly only after some time. So it's impossible to record a style like this.
Therefore my question: How do you do it? Is there a best practice?
