Japanese Style Library for Pa5X, Where Can I Find?

Post by Basspig »

I'm looking for more Japanese-oriented styles in the following categories:

Modern Jazz/Fusion/Experimental Jazz
Pop/Rock
Orchestral movie soundtrack

Also, there doesn't seem to be a Koto instrument in the vast collection of instruments, unless I missed it. The World category has mostly European and South American instruments.

If such a library is released, I'm interested.

There are Koto sounds if you go into sound edit (or use the search button, you will find them). As well as shamisen, shakuhachi, Hachikiri, Taiko (though I find the taiko sounds less realistic, so I use external VSTs for those)...

The Koto sounds are in the GM/XP sound bank under Ethnic:
Koto GM, Taisho Koto, FM Koto EP (this one is in the EP sound bank), and Koto XG

I quite often do a lot of japanese themed music on stream so I access these through the sound edit mode. One of these days I'll get around to creating a keyboardset in the arranger mode to use the sounds, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

"Search button? Where is that????? ..... Ooooh... so there IS a Search button!"

I learn something new every day. I was looking on the screen for a search function like my Korg KRONOS.. had no idea there is a PHYSICAL search button!! Thank you for bring this to my attention. Poor eyesight, low light studio, can't see a thing!

I did find the GM Koto but it's the same 1989 quality crappy sample, not like the high quality samples of other instruments on the main menu pages.

If there were Japanese Jazz, pop, rock and soundtrack music styles, I would be in great shape. The vast majority of the pre installed styles aren't in the style of music I want to create.

Heck, I'd even settle for some British modern Jazz styles to start with.

I'm interested in styles similar to Joe Hisaishi, Ryo Kawasaki, Yohko Kanno, etc.
