Pick up notes

I have noticed that if I play pick up notes before starting a style with the left hand, the right hand volume is very low, especially noticeable when recording an MP3. Once the style starts, the RH voices play at desired volume. Maybe it has always been like that, but with some things I am working on now it is particularly annoying.
Is there a setting that will fix it?
