Another O/S Update.

Post by chelsea4023 »

Hi All,
I'm 70 this year and brought up on organs and now arrangers ( I currently own a Korg PA5X). I wanted a decent weighted keyboard a couple of years back (for piano pieces) and traded my Roland RD2000 in for a Nautilus 88. I got an excellent deal and have not looked back since. Some of the sounds on the Nautilus take my breath away (particularly the strings and pianos). I admit that getting around the keyboard is confusing but that is more down to me, rather than the keyboard. The amount of third Party software available is excellent.

What really impresses me is the work going on in the background with the O/S updates. We had an update back in late February and now another in May. I do understand why Kronos owners have an issue with the Nautilus (but the latest Kronos is due to hit the Music Stores in the next few months). For first time owners of a 'Workstation', I think the Nautilus is an excellent keyboard to own.
I'm very happy with mine.
Can I just mention Dan Stesco who frequents these Forums. You won't find a more helpful and knowledgeable person on any Music Forum anywhere. I believe he actually worked for Korg prior to the launch of the Nautilus.

I purchased a Nautilus AT (88 key) for my church. While the use-case won't delve into editing and composing capabilities, the provided sound samples work extremely well for use during the worship services. :)

The minimalist design of the controls is quite polarizing. Given how the board is used, I like it. But I also understand how others like having the sliders & increased knob count of the Kronos. :)
