When I play a midi file on the 700 it is fine - the midi file and piano in upper 1 is a good balance - but at the end of the file the volume of that piano suddenly drops. (Until) I play the next file - then the volume returns to normal. Recently I had to play the national anthem (live) at a meeting and the volume of the piano was so weak I had to pound the piano and it still wasn't loud enough. This is a recent problem so I have a feeling I touched a setting I shouldn't have! Some setting is making the piano too soft. I tried searching 'volume' on this forum and don't see a common problem.

I notice there are '0' responses to my volume problem!
Perhaps I can simplify. When a midi file is playing, my right hand is appropriately loud. When I stop the midi file, the right hand volume drops dramatically. Why is that?

One result is that, when playing 'live', I have to turn up the volume crazy high to get any 'volume'.

Question: what is the default setting for Global> Menu>controllers>velocity curve?

The lack of responses may just be because no one who has read the original post has experienced this behaviour, and so are unable to help.

One thing to try, might be to create a MIDI file that contains just one note, or a long rest, and see if stopping or starting the playing of that MIDI file has the same effect on the piano volume.

I've created a midi file with nothing but 2 Hi Hat notes. (on Ch 10 with a program change and vol 100)
Sure enough, when I start the file, the piano volume suddenly jumps. ...and then drops.

Also - it's not a 'piano' problem but any instrument

I found a post from 2022 with the same problem except concerning style playing.
Solution:

Problem solved: It was actually a problem of TalkOver. I must have been experimenting with it one time!

Solution:
Global --> Mic Setup --> TalkOver = OFF, Mode Auto= OFF, Background music level = 100%.
