mute the bass

on PA700, When playing a midi 'song', is there a simple way to mute the bass channel. (in my case always channel 1) if I were to play the song along with a live human bass player?
This is the Korg Triton LE / Korg TR section of the forum, so maybe not the best place to get an answer regarding the Pa700.
Tapping the BASS button on the Main / Volume pane should change the button status from Play, to Mute. Does that give the required result?
