I have recently produced this image for a local artist. It is 2m x 1.4m and hangs in three sections as illustrated. The piece, entitled "For the Love of...!" will be displayed in the window of a high street gallery during a week long art festival.
I'm an athiest and this piece caused me no offense. I took it to be a comment on civil partnerships, or church hypocrisy, or even a sarcastic twist on the vicar/altarboy theme in the age of female ministers.
An employee who helped me produce it thinks it will cause offense. I'm not sure if I'm being thick skinned, or just thick, but I don't see that strong a shock value in this image.
So I thought I'd ask a wider forums opinion.

Sorry, I voted for "huh huh ... two girls huh huh .... huh huh..." cos it was really a funny answer! I couldn't resist... anyway, seriously my vote would go for "No, it's great".

I think its really great, but in order to try understand how it might offend someone, all you need to do is look at this from another other point of view.
What if it where two men kissing. Would that help you see why people might not like it ?. It’s the same thing really from those who might have a Religious point of view. Or a fear of something.
Food for thought.
Kind Regards.
Sharp.

I'm not sure it being two men kissing makes any difference. It certainly doesn't make it more offensive in my eyes.
It's the whole church/homosexuality issue thats being raised. In fact, two men might have been more effective for the piece. Ultimately the artist wants to sell the image on canvas and for a reason I don't understand, two women seems more palatable to the main stream.
The concern raised was that it would be offensive to church goers. I don't necessarily care, but if I'm going to run into flak for producing it I'd like to plan accordingly!

No, it's great! But then I would say that.
Very good technique, too.
(Don't misconstrue that!)
PS> For context, I'm an agnostic.
