WISHLIST

I have some things i'd like to see improved in the next OS upgrade.
1) The COMPARE button should allow us to preview the place where we are going to write a patch. That way we could avoid overwriting important stuff.
Novation has spoiled me with that feature. Compare allows you to compare the patch with its original settings, but also with other patches.
2) I'd like to be able to edit several layers at once. Again, Roland and Novation have spoiled me in this sense. They use a four patch per pattern structure and allow you to select one or more layers at once and apply all the changes to them at the same time.
3) I'd like to latch the EDIT button when i'm changing the program's name. That way i wouldn't have to keep the edit button pressed while i twist the knobs. It's pretty uncomfortable to keep pushing the button for a long time.
4) I'd like some kind of SHIFT function (as in the electribes) that would allow me to scroll the templates faster. Perhaps pressing the PROGRAM/BANK could be implemented for that ?
Of course that is easier to say than to do, but i think that these aren't very complex modifications, and would certainly make of the RADIAS a better synth.
What would you like to see in an upgrade ?

What kind of destination ?
It would be interesting to be able to modulate envelopes. It would need just a few lines of code...

Agreed with all above. From nemmo's list 1) and 4) resonate big time here !!

Now that i'm turning it off, i realize that i need a feature that let me start with another preset instead of A01 when i turn it on. Again, i'm spoiled by Roland and Novation. My ESX-1 has also that problem/feature.... it certainly cuts the flow of ideas to start with the same sound when you turn it on.
A randomize feature ? That would be neat. The Emu XL7 had that function.

well with most other prominant VA synths like the virus and the ion, they have made EVERY parameter available as a modulation destination.
So far the radias has for VPATCH destinations:
-pitch
-osc2 pitch
-osc1 ctrl1
-osc1 lvl
-osc2 lvl
-noise lvl
-filter1 type
-filter1 cutoff
-filter1 resonance
-filter2 cutoff
-drive/ws depth
-amp lvl
-panpot
-lfo1 freq
-lfo2 freq
some of the main things i see missing are:
-eg depth
-filter2 resonance
-osc1 ctrl 2
-unison detune
-unison spread
-EG 1,2,3 ADSR
(im sure i am missing quite a few here that other people wanted to see)
Now interestingly enough, if you leave the main timbre section and go to the MOD SEQ secition, you will see that the MOD SEQ actualy HAS all the missing destinations. Why arent all these available in the VPATCH section?!
Now another thing i think would be interesting to add would be destinations to multpile timbres, or between timbres...
or even destinations to effects parameters :/
More Modulation Destinations

Some great upgrade suggestions from nemmo and chinard - I totally agree with all your suggestions, particularly concerning mod destinations.
I would also like to add (as I have several times on this forum) my suggestion to include destinations for LFO Master Depth (both 1 & 2). Doesn't sound very useful at first, but imagine, for example, being able to set individual LFO1 depths for Pitch, Amp & Filt1 Cutoff (already possible via V.Patches) and then assigning the Modwheel or Aftertouch to LFO1 Master Depth (not currently possible). This would allow real time performance control of 3 LFO Mod paths at once. Is anyone with me on this? Hope we can collectively push Korg into making our suggestions a reality. Thanks everyone!

As an aside,
Nemmo - have you tried Daz's MS2K converter
It includes a cool randomise function. This is based on the existing sounds loaded into the program, so by loading differenct banks, you will have different random results. I find it a great source of inspiration for building sounds.

another for more modulation destinations on the virtual patch function. and I'd also thought it would be interesting to have some of the effect parameters as mod destinations.

Some great ideas here, as above I would also like to see the name of the patch destination you're writing to.
What I would like to see in an upgrade.....

What I would like to see in an upgrade is more modulation destinations and more modulation slots.....Envelope depth or amount is one destination I am particular with...
I would also like to be able to switch presets without the direct audio mute...It is common on other synths that presets don't mute when you engage the sequencer , arps, and program change....until key is released from the first preset.....I find this abrupt silence rather annoying.......

Now the question is: how can we deliver this wishlist / consumer opinion to the people at Korg ?
If you think about it, this is the kind of research you can hardly obtain for free. We all spent > US$800 in our Radias and we are interested in improving it and we are offering suggestions !
We've even posted videos and pictures, so we are doing a good job at advertising the product already.
Supossedly, we are using the Radias to make music (i must admit that i'm more of a collector these days than anything) so the feedback we are giving is pretty valuable.
Any ideas on how to contact the people at Korg ?

Many of the Korg guys already read the forum including Jerry Kovarsky, who is the product manager for keyboard & recording products. I think the Radias was one of his pet projects too. I know from talking to him that these wishlists are something they read and inwardly digest. That's why I posted my wishes here and the other wishlist threads we've had

We're not just talking to ourselves here .... they're watching

Thanks Daz, for pointing that out - it's reassuring to know that our ideas and suggestions aren't disappearing into thin air. Hope everyone will keep the forum alive with creative suggestions.
Happy 2007 to all!

Excellent !
We get absolutely zero feedback, support or answers from Roland in other forums...
