Is there a power up sequence or other method to determine
what OS version is loaded ?

Hello!

Try this:

Press SHIFT + PATTERN and Power up your EMX:
Scroll Flash, N_Sys, DSP, USER, and PCM versions.

Press:
PART EDIT= Flash version
STEP EDIT= N_Sys version
SONG= USER version
GLOBAL= PCM
MIDI= DSP

N_Sys shows the firmware version of the system, with v1.02 you are up to date.

What's the latest OS on the EMX?

When I do the procedure above, it says 1.03, not 1.02.

1.02 is available from Korg's website, but I can't see 1.03 there. I've only just got my little blue box, so don't really know what differences there are, if any.

there are issues such as a strange delay sometimes when u play a pattern for the first time after turning off and on the machine ( per session) . All that need be done is move the '' time'' knob till original values are restored . Maybe new OS will have that ironed out .
Clock timing might also be sharper at times.

Man , my box is 4 years old , im doing it up to suit me. Tubes , Os , LED's
add that to quality-feel knobs n i have a step up . Through knobs n tubes there is more creative potential , through control n output .
A couple of OS fix's would be simply ... splendid :lol:

1.3 you say ? that must be tight !!

you can upgrade via smart media... is it worth it? maybe but probably not...

it provides two bug fixes: a. when you record automation for the BUTTONS like filter type fx send, sometimes it made weird noises...

b. in SONG mode recording knob turns and playing notes can not be recorded at the same time.

Yeah, I know what the 1.01 to 1.02 changes are, but my box has an N_Sys version of 1.03, and I was wondering what the changes are to from 1.02, and if that's the latest OS. It appears that it is, though it's not on Korg's website.

.... you guys are making me jealous , lol .

My Mx is going in for a repair soon , so i could ask the guys to load up 1.03 surely ? To me , however small the adjustments are its best to have the latest operating system available .

i have an ESX-1, and i was wondering if "1.03" is the latest version..because thats what mine says.
Like you guys said though, Korg doesnt mention this on their support page.

The SONG issue,is basically the reason why the new version is available,hardly anyone uses SONG mode on the EMX (sorry,sweeping statement) but honestly,you know.

I was really amped on the new version update,but it kinda sucks if you dont make SONG's on the EMX.i do patterns a lot.

Download it if you feel its necessary though.

which version os?
