Hi!
first of all, in which mode are you using the Triton Extreme?
I hope in Seq mode, which is the best for that task.
Then, check MIDI channels, if they are configured correctly, i.e. channel 1 for piano and channel 2 for strings.
try these and let us know.

As the document explains you need to create MIDI tracks in Sonar that talk to each of the MIDI channels 1 thru 16 that correspond to the 16 sounds you've setup on the Triton. But, how do i separate sound? when i play track 2 for string....I alse hear piano from track 1..How do I separate them??? i only want to hear 1 sound ?

Triton Rack and Sonar
Daz,
Would this configuration also hold true if I want to set up the Triton Rack as a multitimbral instrument?
