My Triton Extreme Recognizes a 4GB sandisk CF Card.

What up fellas!!
I just got a Sandisk CF Memory card on ebay for my Triton Extreme 4GB.

It works,It Formated it,and it works faster than the older 1 GB.
Give it a try
I am thinking about getting a 8GB Memory card,and see if it works.

Make sure to test it properly and try filling it with tonns of samples and load them randomly!!

I did it already,tested and formatted by the blue triton, saved samples from my PC and load samples into the triton,
I am happy with this.

Salcerin, which card did you buy, regular one or "extreme", or "ultra", "ultra 2"? I have the regular one, 2 gb, but am considering buying a bigger one. You wrote your new card is faster than the old one - please, rewrite in post what is written on card box, there has to be mark that goes like this: SD***, or something like that. And the exact type. If it's extreme, and Triton supports it, its's great.

You said that you'll even try 8GB card... keep us posted, will you?
This surprises me, though, Korg published 1.0.5. manual which states that SanDisk SDCFB cards are supported, but no other SanDisk card.
SDCFB is a regular one.

Doesnt suprise me, the only factor affecting CF cards it seems is the Triton Operating system doesnt always report back the capacity of the card, however it will store the information to the capacity of the CF card.

This is very similar to Digital cameras, and how they interpret the data capacity on Any card. It depends how well written the operating system is and how often the manufacturers update their firmware (O.S) for their hardware.

I bet if you check on the Triton, how much remaining disk space is left, this will report an inaccurate amount. However, it will still save & load, but may be subject to errors towards the end of the directory. I may be wrong, but i have seen it before with other cards. Korg don't know what the future holds for card capacities, and write their software to suit whatever is available at the time of mass manufacture. so unless KORG keep up to date with current technologies, and incorporate these new media capacities into OS updates, we are all just in their hands, or play untill you find the machines current limitations.

Make sure you regularly backup all data you have on CF cards.

Some cards have a tendency to fail after a while.

I just recieved my "SanDisk SDCFX3-4096-901 4 GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card" from Amazon.com and I get it to work right and safely with my Triton Extreme. It seems to work anyway...

Hey - You don't work for Sandisk do you?

Are there a lot of you out there that have successfully used cards other than Korg's stated 1GB limitation? There are some less known brands that are way less money than the Sandisk. Has anyone had success with anything other than Sandisk? Can we, collectively from this forum, build a list of cards that have worked?

out of curiosity... Why do you guys use the CF card if you can just use USB?
is CF faster?

I mean its cheaper and you can hold a lot more space without worrying about limitations, the manual even says it can support a 1 TB drive! seven of them!

CF is faster than USB (T-EX uses USB 1.0). The CF is also secure inside the unit so if you are gigging with the Triton or are constantly moving it around, CF is way more convenient - just ask a M3 user about that! having a USB drive sticking out of the back is a pain ... but ya i'm sure if you're using a USB hard drive in the studio that has it's perks

Oh wow i had no idea it was faster!
i will start using it more then 0.0 right now i have two sample sets i load up each time i turn on the board that load 15 seconds each.. lets see how the CF can compare
