I got the same problem.

I have emailed support so i hope they can help.

It looks like the drivers are not installed properly.
I have re-installed four times.

doesn't woork for my microkontrol either. firmware update, powered, hub, no-powered hub, settings, dancing naked in the rain...useless.

if it weren't for the wee flashing lights and sysex trickery it'd return to the corner. Oh and the keys suck.People walk in and go "wow whats that!?" I usually say, "its a piece of sh*t, check out what i did to the casio!"

Lots of shiny metal and flashy lights points.Zero user friendly points.

You can find the details for the Belgian distributor here :

http://www.korg.co.jp/English/Distribut ... ?keyword=B

Are you guys using Windows or Mac OS X ? Tell us more about your setups etc. It seems like I am reading about this problem on a daily basis, when it used to all just work fine for people.

If you're using Windows maybe you're suffering from 10 MIDI item limit :

Does that help, let us know.

Just for completeness sake ... you have the latest USB MIDI driver too, right ?

http://www.korg.com/service/downloadinfo.asp?DID=1231

Do the microKontrol's various ports shows up correctly in Audio Midi Setup in OS X ?

With the padKontrol and the Radias that I have (no microKontrol or Kontrol49 here) you have to configure the editor to talk to specific ports (port A, port B, port 1, port 2 etc.) on the device. Do you have all that setup correctly ?

If I were I same position I would delete the preferences files for the editor and also do a repair permissions with disk utility too ... then I'd start swearing if didn't work after all of the above ;-)

Updated the driver,
trashed prefs,
fixed permissions

no joy.

Now it even crashes when i try to open the preferences. I'm over it.

Thanks for the effort!

Feck ! ;-)

How about rolling back to the older editor/librarian version 1.0.3 :

Nearly missed that ... does that still happen if you power off any other MIDI devices you have connected to your system or if you disable any IAC channels you may have setup in AMS ?

Now that you mention it...i do have an emagic mt-4 running alongside a motu express 128 and midipatchbay(IAC) passing midi from Pure Data to Logic which is sending sysex to the MicroKontrol to make the pad lights go flashy flashy when my kick drum hits..

But that couldn't cause any problems could it?

Seriously...I'll have a look into it in the next few days and do some clean-restarts-without-otherhardware-and-older-librarian kind of tests.

For now i'm just stoked i gots the native mode hack working after hours of hairpulling and i'm not in the mood for problem solving.

really, sincerely, thanks for your time!

I have had problems before with apps that got upset in their MIDI configuration screens when certain MIDI devices were present. My evolution controller for example really upsets the MIDI configuration screens in Native Instruments software, no idea why. Same too with IAC channels with apps that scan for devices by sending sysex and get upset when that comes right back at them down an IAC channel. It's a long shot ;-)

Here is my set-up :

Power Mac G5 dual 2.5 with Mac OS 10.4.10
KONTROL49 version 1.06
KORG_USB-MIDI_Driver_1.0.7_For_Mac
KONTROL49 Editor Librarian 1.0.0

The Editor Librarian can't find the Kontrol 49, says : "Can't find KONTROL49". And when I do a "Transmit" it says KONTROL49 is not connected. The midi transmition works fine with Nuendo and Logic.

Already tried :
1. reinstalling KORG_USB-MIDI_Driver and KONTROL49 Editor Librarian 1.0.0
2. trashing KORG KONTROL49 Edior Librarian.plist

Any help is welcomed.
