Do you leave your D3200 ON?

Hi, all.
I was wondering about something. It seems that I read that the date and clock will reset if the back panel power switch is turned off. Is this true and if it is do you just leave it in standby or completely turn it off. And if you do leave it in standby how long at a time do you do this?
