Successful Electribe Artists?

Post by paul_courville »

Who are some of the more recognized and/or successful Electribe artists?

The reason I ask is that the EMX and ESX seem well suited for traditional FM radio format music i.e. intro-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus-verse-exit.

Maybe add some power chords, rythym guitar and vocals and you could have a Depeche Mode,New Order, Berlin, Bellanova type song.

Me crazy?

I've asked Ruso to locate his email address.
Perhaps we can invite him to join us and share his experiences...

Just noticed that in the picture at least , there is no sign of a Computer in this guys setup . He no doubt uses one , although with that setup it definatly isnt essential , unless he has no other recording devices .

Just a thought guys ......

obviously he uses a computer to record and id image he uses one to sort out samples / organise his data but like you said, his live act can easily not involve a computer.

if like some sort of set up like that, althought id much rather spend the 4/5 hundred quid on a laptop instead of a second esx1

he does not use a computer in his setup, he records with a portable recorder, korg does not pay him.... like I said he's just a normal guy.

Octave One uses the EMX. Classic Detroit style business, one of my favorites.

hey guys. novaTRON here. i've been playing on the electribes for about 5 years now. i don't use a computer in performing or recording my music, as ruso stated i use a hardware recorder (m-audio micro track). i did (of course) use a pc and the sx sample editer to load the samples into the sx's.

i don't have the level of success (yet) that i support myself completly from performing live sets but it does pay my travels and that in itself is success to me. i don't have any dependents so it works out good for me. i'm enjoying my life quite a bit.

don't know if you caught this link on my page of the live set i performed back in may in SF at the expeirment, but here it is:
