ZERO LIVE CONTROL MIXER delivers truly professional-spec audio. It supports 24-bit 48 kHz high-resolution audio as standard, and can support up to 24-bit 192 kHz audio that’s equivalent to DVD audio fidelity. Along with the digital domain, analog components such as the input/output circuitry and power supply have been designed with painstaking attention to high-quality sound. The internal ±18 volt power supply design delivers plenty of headroom and excellent audio quality. The mic preamps are an ultra-low impedance design by Peter Watts, a veteran designer of numerous professional mixers throughout his tenure at the Trident Corporation in the UK and as chief designer and vice president for product development at Mackie Designs in the USA. Finally, the power supply is a universal design that does not require an AC adapter, ensuring that the world-traveling professional can get to work immediately, assured of the highest level of performance.

I agree that I would like to have some more information on this. I also have bad hiss on both the Master and Booth outputs. Overall, I am not pleased with the sound quality of this mixer when compared to my Allen & Heath Xone 62.

I checked for the hiss today and sure enough with all channels set to MIDI only when I turn on the mixer I get the HISS you are reporting.

I believe it is with all Zero mixers.

A small amount of noise floor is always expected. But it should never be as loud as what we are experiencing.

i guess it would be useful to check the firmware revisions aswell.
any korg representative monitoring this board care to elaborate on the subject please?
(we're still awaiting advice from the official sources)

I have learned through experience to never underestimate what flaws can make it past quality control these days.

I purchased on of the first Allen & Heath Xone 3D mixers when they came out. Here's the list of problems, out of the box:

1. Horrible noise when you connected the computer. It was not ground loop noise, but much louder. Called A&H and they said they had a firmware update for the mixer to cure the noise. They said it was USB clock jitter. Anyway, the firmware update cured the noise problem instantly.

2. Drivers crashing Windows. I couldn't use the mixer for more than 4 minutes because it would Blue Screen my laptop. Did a fresh Windows install and tried again, but still got BSOD.

3. Fader broken out of the box. One of the MIDI sliders was bent and send random MIDI signals uncontrollably.

I had to return the mixer for a refund. Since the drivers were crashing my laptop, a new mixer would not have solved the issues. Ultimately, A&H did work out the drivers.... but I was displeased with having to pay money to be their beta tester.

I get the feeling history is repeating itself this time with the Zero 8.

That's good news.

I'm happy they are acknowledging there are issues. That is often the most difficult step.
