I noticed that another user asked this question a while back, but didn't receive an answer. I'm having the same problems so I'll try again.

I am running a Mac with the following specs:
- 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
- OSX 10.4.10

On my Mac I am running Ableton Live 6.0.10 along with the Korg Legacy
Collection Version 1.2.2. I have not been able to run use the Korg
Legacy Collection as an AU plug-in even though I have set it up in the
Preferences. When I bring any of the Korg Synths into an Ableton MIDI track the error message "unable to open audio unit" appears. Also, when I open a previously saved file - that I created on my old G4 Powerbook - that has Synths already, saved Ableton crashes. Can someone help me? I use the Korg synths in my live set and I really would like to figure this out.

Thank you,
Los Duck

Hey Los Duck,

I am having the exact problem with running the KLC in ableton

I'm running a Macbook with ableton v6.0.7

- 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 1GB Ram
- OSX Leopard

I downloaded the latest version of KLC v.1.1.10 and the install went without a hitch.

Ableton has recognized the AU's are correct and showing them in my plug-ins folder but when i drag the AU into a channel i receive the message:

"Failed to create Audio Unit ...."
"The audio unit plug-in could not be opened"

Korg if you could advise i would be mighty grateful.

Are there any compatibility issues with Leopard and KLC?

Cheers

It seems there is a problem here with korg. I have the exact same problem using digital performer. Both companies say it should work and thats the end of it.

I have not used the wavestation since i bought it 3 months ago . GUTTED.

I was going to change to ableton in case it was Digital Performer problem. Will think again now
