using roland sustain pedal on triton extreme?

Post by Luke672 »

I bought my trition extreme today!!

I asked the guys at the store for a sustain pedal and they gave me a roland dp 10 sustain pedal. They tested it on a triton and it worked. My question is, is it reaylly safe to be using another brand on the korg or is it best to get a korg foot pedal?

If it's working, then you shouldn't worry your self. Doesn't matter it isn't Korg's pedal, it can't do any harm to your Extreme.

I have some no name "PS 10" for years, used it on N364, now am using on Extreme, hadn't any trouble whatsoever.

Enjoy your Extreme.

I've had to open up the damper pedal that came with my used TEX (chord had to be replaced), and it appears to be a simple on/off switch inside. No electronics whatsoever.

Any pedal that is "Normally Open" (which means: contacts are not closed when pedal is not pushed) will do. Don't worry about using different brands.

The only thing you may have to do with any pedal is change the polarity if it isn't a Korg pedal. I had to do that with a Boss Sustain pedal I have but haven't used in ages.
