Logic 8 - editor problem

Hi
Just bought a M3/73 - Really love it. I feel it will change the way I make music from now
However, I am having problem with the editor...
Once I launch the editor [either stand alone or plug-in] I always get message "searching" and it gone thr all ports in my computer, takes about 15-20 mins to complete...
Then everything ok...I save "all" and select it as autoload...
But then the next lauch, it search and scan all port again [so that I will have to wait another 15/20 mins]
It's like nothing being remember in preferences
I noticed that the "autoload file" also UNCHECK
In global, I did save as default as well...
Any suggestion?
I am using Mac OSX 10.4
M3 OS 1.04, editor 1.01, latest USB driver
